Not saying it was a better time but it was fun at least in the dress styles and music. Plenty of record shops and turntables it's hard to believe the internet was non existent. I know most will scorn the disco genre, Bee Gees disco but between the film and its soundtrack this film and music brings me back to a tumultuous but simpler time in NYC.

March 1977 Vinny Barbarino (John Travolta) a sweathog from the then current Welcome Back Kotter tv show was coming to Bay Ridge Brooklyn to film a movie that's all I knew. A blockbuster movie filmed right in the borough I lived in and not in Hollywood.

The filming along with the finished film, music, made me feel like something big and positive was happening here in Brooklyn where I was born and lived at the time, besides negatives like the Son Of Sam killings going on at the same time in NYC 1976-1977. spring 1977 this film along with its music was a phenomenon that was felt by many people. Regardless of the endless criticism of Disco, I look back at this double record realizing the cultural phenomen it was and how big it really had gotten.Р”Р‡ilmed in Brooklyn N.Y.
